A well-priced hotel in the Jarwal and Al Tayseer area, close to the King Abdullah Expansion side of the Haram and directly opposite a bus stop. Rooms are spacious for the money and come with a fridge, kettle, safe, flat-screen television and hairdryer, and there is a prayer hall inside the hotel along with several Pakistani restaurants a short walk away. Be realistic about the walk: guests describe ten to fifteen minutes to reach the mosque, and while a free shuttle runs to the Haram, reviewers report it is not always reliable at busy times and some end up taking a taxi back after prayers. It is a good-value base for those happy to walk, and less suited to guests who need a dependable door-to-door service.

Meshal Al Salam
A hotel on Al Salam Street in Madinah's western central area, within a comfortable walk of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi — guests typically use Gate 7. Rooms have air conditioning, flat-screen satellite television, a minibar and free Wi-Fi, and the suites add a separate living room. There is a restaurant serving breakfast through to dinner, a business centre and room service. The Al-Madinah Museum is about half a kilometre away and the Green Dome under a kilometre. Parking is valet and limited. Two things to know when booking: the hotel trades as Elaf Meshal Al Salam and also appears on some systems as Meshal Hotel Madinah 2, and published walking distances vary between roughly 400 and 800 metres depending on which entrance is measured to.
