Hajj vs Umrah

Umrah can be performed at any time of year, while Hajj takes place on specific days in the month of Dhul-Hijjah. Hajj includes additional rites in Mina, Arafah and Muzdalifah, and demands more physical stamina and careful logistics.

The Hajj visa

Hajj requires a dedicated Hajj visa — it cannot be performed on a tourist eVisa or EVW. Hajj is managed through official channels and authorised operators, and places are allocated, so early booking matters.
